William Armand Sosa is best known for recreating a working version of the Dendera light. He is an electronics technician and software engineer who researches what he sees as the lost technology of ancient Egypt. He also describes himself as a "psychic intuitive" and says that pattern recognition guides his work. Over about 30 years his research has taken him to England, Egypt, Peru, Jordan, Greece, and Coral Castle in Homestead, Florida.
Most of his work centres on the Temple of Hathor at Dendera in Egypt. He first came across the "Dendera light" reliefs in the 1970s and 1980s through the book Lights of the Pharaohs. In the early 1990s he began collecting photographs of the reliefs. Working with a friend, he built what he presents as working replicas: a glowing gas-discharge "bulb," and the power supply and other parts he believes complete the circuit. He identifies further pieces of the system in the temple art, including the Hathor sistrum, the menat necklace, and the solar headdress. He also uses the work as the basis for a cosmology he calls Electric Buoyancy Flow / Lotus Cosmology.
He has demonstrated the replicas on:
Context (for balance): Egyptologists read the Dendera reliefs as religious imagery: a lotus flower giving birth to a snake, part of a creation myth. They do not read them as electrical equipment. See the Wikipedia article on the Dendera light. William's work is an alternative interpretation that he backs with physical replicas.
In his words (short quotes)
William's work sits next to Danny's, not underneath it. Danny's TRP model is mainly hydraulic and thermoacoustic: the Giza pyramids pump water. TRP does give electrical effects a real secondary role, though. In the paper, piezoelectric and inverse-piezoelectric activity in the granite produces electromagnetic fields and ultrasound, and localised high-voltage discharges could explain the Lichtenberg-like branching patterns Robert Schoch has identified on the plateau. William argues from the Dendera reliefs that Egyptian builders understood and used electrical and plasma phenomena. Both men take ancient Egyptian builders' technical knowledge seriously, test their ideas with working builds, and draw on Tesla. Note that Dendera is a much later (Ptolemaic–Roman era) temple than the Giza pyramids.
